Phone Numbers
TalkButton supports both purchasing a new phone number or using your own Twilio phone number.
If you are already using Twilio and have phone numbers managed on there, you can use those same numbers with TalkButton and we will handle all the configuration behind the scenes.
If you don't use Twilio, you will want to purchase a new phone number and then forward your existing main number to this number (or you can just give out your new TalkButton number directly)
Getting a Number
Whether you want to purchase a new number or use an existing Twilio number, the process to set up a new number is the same: click the "New Phone Number" button at the top of the Phone Numbers page

You can choose to buy a new phone number (which has a monthly cost) or use your own Twilio phone number.
Bring Your Own Number Configuration
If you chose the "BYON" option, you will have to specify the Phone Number, Account SID, and Twilio Auth Token, e.g.

To get this info, you will need to login to your Twilio account
On your main Twilio home screen, you will be able to obtain your Account SID and Auth Token:

The phone number that you enter must be in e164 format, e.g. +15556667777 and must exist in the list of Phone Numbers in the Twilio Console.
In general you should check the "Automatically configure my phone number" box as this will update the Action URL on the phone number in Twilio so that calls to this number ring to TalkButton.
When you have entered the phone number, account SID, and auth token, you can click Save to add the new phone number. It should now show up in the list as follows:

If you get an error, make sure you have the correct Account SID and Auth Token.
Purchasing a New Phone Number
If you chose to purchase a new number, you will instead get a popup that lets you search for a new number:

You can use the filters at the top to fine tune the number results.
When you have found a number, click the Select Phone Number button in order to use that number
Note: this decision is final and you cannot change the number at a later time but you can release the number and purchase a new one

Scripts
There is only one main setting for each phone number - its Script. This will be explained in detail in the next section.
